Aragonez
Cerejeiras 2020 Tinto Lisboa
Bright red colour accompanies ripe, soft red fruit and a fresh, approachable character. The palate is balanced, medium-bodied and structured. Castelão, Aragonez and Touriga Nacional form the blend, drawn from clay-based sites in Lisboa. The wine contains 13 percent alcohol. This is a gastronomic red, with suggested food pairings of fish, meat, cheese and pasta.
Cartuxa Monte de Pinheiros 2019 Tinto Alentejo
Mature fruit and a light vegetal note meet firm tannins in a harmonious finish. The blend combines Aragonez, Trincadeira, Alicante Bouschet and Syrah, and the wine contains 13.5 percent alcohol. Produced in Alentejo, it was the first red release under this label. Its fruit-led profile includes wild berries, while the structure gives the wine a more serious edge.
João Portugal Ramos 2022 Ramos Reserva Alentejano
Aragonez, Syrah and Trincadeira form a dry red blend with ripe red fruit and spice. The palate is robust and full-bodied, with layers of boysenberry, cherry, plum and a light cranberry note. Tannins and acidity are also present. The wine comes from Alentejo and carries 13.5 percent alcohol. Grilled dark meats and hard, salty cheeses are among the suggested pairings.
FitaPreta 2018 Palpite Reserva Tinto
Concentrated dark-violet colour accompanies intense red fruit, subtle menthol and round tannins. The finish is intense and persistent, and the wine is aged in oak. This dry, full-bodied red blends Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Trincadeira, Baga, Castelão, Tinta Carvalha and Tinta Miúda. The fruit is selected from the strongest vineyard blocks, and the wine is drawn from selected barrels.
Cartuxa 2018 Pera-Manca Tinto
Blackberry, cassis and plum lead a deep, dark-fruited profile, with cinnamon bringing measured warmth and spice. The palate carries the same concentrated fruit with a composed, savoury shape, while the finish remains long and quietly persistent. Decant before serving with roast lamb, braised beef or richly seasoned mushrooms.
Julia Kemper 2012 Aragonez Dão DOC
Deep ruby with wild blackberry at the centre, edged by gentle spice and a cool, resinous hint of pine. The palate is dry and velvety, with fine-grained tannins keeping the ripe fruit composed. Elegant rather than forceful, it carries fresh acidity and a delicate savoury line into a clean, quietly persistent finish.
