Portuguese Red
Deep ruby with violet reflections, the wine offers ripe red fruit, mild spice and a light touch of wood. Half matures for six months in used barrels, followed by nine months in bottle.
FitaPreta 2018 Palpite Reserva Tinto
Portuguese Red
Concentrated dark-violet colour accompanies intense red fruit, subtle menthol and round tannins. The finish is intense and persistent, and the wine is aged in oak. This dry, full-bodied red blends Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Trincadeira, Baga, Castelão, Tinta Carvalha and Tinta Miúda. The fruit is selected from the strongest vineyard blocks, and the wine is drawn from selected barrels.
Luis Seabra 2021 Mono A Alfrocheiro
Portuguese Red
Alfrocheiro comes from sustainably grown vines in granitic soils with quartz. The vineyard lies in Dão, in the foothills of the Serra da Estrela mountain range. Forty percent whole clusters ferment with indigenous yeast in a wooden vat, followed by a twenty-six-day maceration and fourteen months in Eastern European oak. The wine is bottled directly from barrel without fining or filtering. Aromatic character and gentle tannins are also present.
Vinhos Borges 2018 Meia Encosta Dão
Portuguese Red
Red and ripe fruit lead a generous but precise palate, supported by fine tannins rather than overt weight. Fresh acidity gives the wine lift and keeps the fruit defined through the middle, while a quiet savoury edge adds complexity. The finish is persistent, returning to red fruit with a clean, balanced shape. Pair with roast chicken, grilled pork, chorizo pasta or a simple beef stew.
FitaPreta 2020 Os Paulistas Chão dos Eremitas
Portuguese Red
Ruby in colour with a violet edge, opening on red berries, pomegranate and fresh herbal notes. The palate is long and structured but finely judged, with bright tannins, silky texture and lifted fruit keeping the wine graceful. Savoury undergrowth and subtle oak emerge toward the finish, which remains precise, vibrant and composed.
Caves Sao Joao 1987 Porta dos Cavaleiros Tinto
