Sta. Rita Hills

Ten Pinot Noir clones from the estate vineyard form the blend, which ages sixteen months in French oak, seventy percent new. Vanilla, warm cherry sauce and caramel appear with berry fruit and purple flowers. Chipped-slate minerality is accompanied by dried thyme and bay leaf. Red currant, raspberry and cherry are finely textured. Chocolate and savoury notes are present. The finish has sandalwood and thyme.

Candied raspberry, tart cranberry and darker berry fruit meet earth, white pepper and paprika. The palate is dense and expressive, yet fresh acidity keeps the ripe fruit lively and defined. Dark spice and a savoury mineral edge add depth through the centre, while fine-grained tannins provide a polished, controlled frame. The finish is long and clean, balancing berry richness with earthy spice and steady freshness.
