Purple-red colour accompanies wild blackberry, star anise, rosemary, graphite, mineral notes and salinity. The palate is ample and includes wild fruit. Maturation lasts nine months in amphorae. Serve at 16°C.

Escaravailles 2023 Rasteau Heritage 1924

French Red
$74.99

Sweet raspberry, framboise and floral notes rise from the glass, leading into a ripe, powerful palate that remains remarkably weightless. The texture is medium to full-bodied, framed by ultra-fine tannins and fresh, precise fruit. Made entirely from destemmed Grenache and raised in concrete, it pairs naturally with grilled lamb, duck, beef stew, roasted aubergine or aged hard cheese.

Intense black fruit and blueberry aromas are lifted by cracked pepper, dried herbs and a hint of cocoa. The palate is rich and concentrated, built around ripe Grenache fruit, firm but polished tannins and a clear mineral line. Blackberry, cherry and savoury spice persist through a focused, energetic finish. Serve with braised lamb, grilled sausages, roast aubergine or hard cheese.
