French Red
Blackberry and dark plum lead with peppery herbs, lavender and a touch of leather. The palate is medium-bodied and poised, combining ripe fruit with polished tannins and fresh acidity. Savoury spice and dried herbs gather through the centre, giving the generous fruit a firm, clean and persistent finish.
Maison Tardieu-Laurent 2022 Gigondas Vieilles Vignes
French Red
Grenache forms ninety percent of the blend, with five percent Mourvèdre and five percent Syrah. Three quarters of the fruit is not destemmed. Maturation includes ten months in one- and two-vintage Allier and Tronçais barrels, plus twelve months in foudre. Bottling occurs without fining or filtration. Black raspberry, sandalwood, ground pepper, dried herbs, dark cherry and cassis are present with fine, firm tannins and a long, spicy finish.
Domaine des Pasquiers 2022 Gigondas
French Red
Equal parts Grenache and Syrah are vinified and aged for nine months in concrete tanks. Red and dark fruit appear with clove and wet tobacco. Dark cherry, garrigue, mulberry and spice accompany graphite, earth, mineral and meaty notes. The wine is medium- to full-bodied, with depth, velvety tannins and a long finish. The vineyards are certified organic.
Domaine Raspail-Ay 2020 Gigondas 1.5 L
French Red
The blend is sixty percent Grenache, thirty-five percent Syrah and five percent Mourvèdre. Jammy red and black fruit appear with toasted spice. The palate is fleshy, with ripe tannins, acidity and balance. Grapes are harvested by hand. Vatting lasts thirty days, and maturation lasts eighteen to twenty-four months in oak foudres plus six months in demi-muids. Alcohol is fourteen percent.
