Rose petals and pressed flowers lift a concentrated core of blackberry, plum and red berries. This Sangiovese from the estate’s Paganelli vineyard, planted in 1964, has a bold, rounded palate framed by firm tannins. Dark fruit carries through the finish, balancing the wine’s powerful structure with floral perfume and elegance.

About Il Poggione
Il Poggione's modern story began near the close of the nineteenth century, when Lavinio Franceschi established the estate in the hills south of Montalcino. Leopoldo and Livia Franceschi continue the family's work at the estate. Among the early estates to bring Brunello to market, Il Poggione was also a founding member of the denomination's growers' consortium.
The vineyards are part of a diversified farm around Sant'Angelo in Colle and include a site planted in 1964. Grapes are picked by hand.
