About Château Lafon-Rochet
The property's history is documented from 1557, and it later took the Lafon-Rochet name as the estate passed through marriage and inheritance. Lafon-Rochet was classified as a Fourth Growth in 1855. The Tesseron family acquired the neglected property in 1960 and led its modern revival; Emmanuel and Jacky Lorenzetti became owners in 2021.
The vineyard occupies two Saint-Estèphe hillsides, combining deep gravel with clay and clay-limestone ground. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot lead the plantings, with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Conversion to organic farming began in 2020.
