Dark cherry and blackberry are lifted by lilac, sandalwood and a touch of balsamic spice. This single-vineyard Sangiovese from Pianrosso combines a full, concentrated palate with fine tannins and lively balance. Leather, tobacco and tea bring savoury depth beneath the fruit, carrying into a long finish with a silky texture and a mineral edge.

About Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona
Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona is centred on a seventeenth-century palazzo. In 1985, Countess Elda Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona bequeathed the property to its longtime manager, Giuseppe Bianchini. Giuseppe's children, Paolo and Lucia Bianchini, share ownership, with the next generation also involved in the estate.
The property extends across roughly 195 hectares near Castelnuovo dell’Abate, with about fifty hectares of vineyards and forty of olive groves. South-facing Sangiovese Grosso grows on marl and shale above the Val d’Orcia. Fermentation takes place in the underground Molinello cellar, while the historic palazzo houses wines for long ageing.
