Judith Beck 2021 Blaufränkisch

Black fruit, ink and graphite sit in a firm profile with fine-grained tannins. The dry red also shows spice, soft texture, velvety tannins and lively acidity. Blaufränkisch undergoes three weeks of maceration and ages for ten months in used barrels. It is neither fined nor filtered, receives little sulphur at bottling and carries 12.5 percent alcohol.

About Judith Beck
Judith Beck took responsibility for the cellar at her family’s Gols estate in 2000, assumed the family business in 2004 and completed a new winery the following year. She and her partner Uli Leitner tend about twenty hectares around Gols in Burgenland, close to Lake Neusiedl's eastern shore.
The vineyards are farmed organically and biodynamically. Saint Laurent, Pinot Noir and Blaufränkisch are central to the range, and cellar work includes spontaneous fermentation.
