About Ursa Major
Ursa Major began in 2016 as Rajen’s experimental wine project, shaped by a childhood among family vineyards in Oliver. Rajen and Bree now work from All the Pretty Horses Farm & Vineyard in Keremeos. They farm organically and carry out the vineyard work by hand. Fruit is picked by hand and processed promptly, with whole clusters or gentle destemming chosen according to the harvest. Fermentation begins with wild yeasts before basket pressing into vessels chosen for the variety and vintage. The name recalls black bears in Rajen’s childhood vineyard and the Great Bear constellation above it.
