Listán Blanco, also known as Palomino, comes from ungrafted vines on Tenerife’s volcanic slopes, 500 to 900 metres above sea level. Grapes are harvested by hand and fermented with indigenous yeast in stainless steel. Lemon, green apple, kiwi and grapefruit appear with fennel, salt and stone. The palate has fresh citrus, herbs, vibrant acidity, concentration, medium weight and length.

About Viñátigo
Juan Jesús Méndez developed Viñátigo from his grandparents’ vineyards in 1990, continuing five generations of winegrowing in La Guancha, on northwestern Tenerife. Recovering the Canary Islands’ rare local grapes has been central to his work, supported by experimental plantings and studies of the islands’ soils.
Many old vines grow on their own roots in volcanic ground. Built with local stone, the winery uses gravity to move the wine and cool northerly winds for natural ventilation.
