Château Maltus 2022 Lalande-de-Pomerol

Blackcurrant, coffee, graphite, oak and undergrowth define the aromatic profile. The dry, full-bodied palate is generous, with present acidity and balanced wood. Structure and a polished texture accompany spice, pepper, dense black fruit and rich tannins. The fruit comes from vines averaging sixty-five years of age, and maturation lasts eighteen months in wood. Merlot accounts for seventy percent of the blend.

About Vignobles Lassagne
Paul and Andrée Lassagne began their family wine business at Château des Landes in Lussac-Saint-Émilion in 1952, with five hectares of vines on a mixed farm. Their son Daniel joined in 1979 after studying viticulture, expanding the vineyards and modernizing the cellar. Nicolas followed in 2001 as the third generation, and his wife Sabrina joined in 2017.
The family now works 46 hectares in Lussac-Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux and Lalande-de-Pomerol, including Château des Landes and Château Maltus. The vineyards have held Haute Valeur Environnementale certification since the 2019 vintage.
