Zuccardi 2022 Aluvional Paraje Altamira Malbec

$121.99

Aromatic dried herbs and concentrated cherry appear together. Fresh red plum, mulberry and rosemary accompany a velvety palate. Acidity gives the wine energy, and the aftertaste is saline. Malbec forms the entire wine from Paraje Altamira in San Carlos, Uco Valley. The vineyards sit between 1,050 and 1,150 metres. Their alluvial soils were formed by mountain water carrying rocks, sediments and minerals.

About Zuccardi
Alberto ‘Tito’ Zuccardi planted the family’s first Mendoza vineyard in 1963 while demonstrating an irrigation system he had designed. His son José Alberto assumed leadership in 1985 and expanded the family winery through a new stage of Argentine wine development. Sebastián Zuccardi later directed the family’s move into the Uco Valley and created a research programme focused on its varied soils and sites. The first family vineyards in Paraje Altamira were planted in 2007, followed by a dedicated Uco Valley winery opened in 2016. Three generations remain part of the story, while ownership, management and technical roles are stated separately. Zuccardi's contemporary work is centred on the Uco Valley, where the family develops vineyard projects across its high-altitude subregions.
