A deep, silky-smooth profile includes black cherry, violet, wet earth, smoky berry character and spice. The wine is concentrated and elegant, with medium-to-full body, velvety texture, fine depth, lively acidity and a sapid, fresh finish. A serious tannin structure, drive and energy are also present, together with loamy soil and potpourri. This is Gamay from Fleurie in Beaujolais.

About Jean Foillard
Jean and Agnès Foillard took over the family domaine in Villié-Morgon in 1980. Much of their work centres on Côte du Py, with its decomposed granite and schist; Corcelette and Eponym come from other distinct sites.
For the red wines, late picking and careful sorting are followed by fermentation with native yeasts and ageing in used Burgundy barrels, with little or no added sulphur. The domaine made its first Beaujolais Blanc in 2023.
