Château Rieussec 2010 Sauternes 375 mL

$204.99

Medium-intensity yellow colour carries green tinges. Pineapple, vanilla, sweet spice, orange peel and peach appear with concentration, sweetness and balancing acidity. The blend is ninety-two percent Semillon, five percent Sauvignon Blanc and three percent Muscadelle. Harvest ran from mid-September to early November in five selective passes. Fermentation took place in barrels, and maturation lasted twenty-six months in new oak.

About Château Rieussec
In the eighteenth century, Château Rieussec belonged to the Carmelites of Langon. Ranked a First Growth of Sauternes in 1855, the estate was acquired by Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite in 1984. Sémillon dominates the plantings, supported by Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. For its Sauternes, pickers make successive passes through the vines, selecting grapes as noble rot develops. The grapes are sorted and fermented in barrels.
