Pinot Noir comes from the Vosne-Romanée appellation in Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits. The appellation covers vineyards in Vosne-Romanée and neighbouring Flagey-Échezeaux and is reserved for red wine. Limestone mixed with clayey marls is characteristic, with soil depths ranging from tens of centimetres to one metre. The plots have an easterly exposure and may lie at the top or foot of the slope.
