Syrah grows on micaschist and granite in parcels on the higher slopes around Ampuis and Condrieu. The grapes are destemmed and macerate for about fifteen days. About Domaine Jamet
Jean-Paul Jamet began making wine with his father, Joseph, in 1976. He built Domaine Jamet with his wife, Corinne, and their son Loïc now works alongside them. The cellar stands at Le Vallin on the plateau above Ampuis. The vines occupy narrow terraces on abrupt hillsides, rooted mainly in schist with smaller seams of granite. Jean-Paul has long favoured blending wines from Côte-Rôtie's different sites for their complementary characters.
