Giovanni Chiappini 2013 Lienà Cabernet Franc Toscana IGT
$156.99
Plum and dried fruit lead a complex, savoury nose, with tobacco, chocolate and liquorice adding depth. The palate is rich yet elegant, its generous fruit framed by smooth, soft tannins rather than hard edges. French-oak ageing brings polish and subtle warmth while the Cabernet Franc retains a clear, persistent shape. The finish is long, balanced and quietly earthy. Decant before serving with braised beef, roast lamb or aged pecorino.

About Giovanni Chiappini
Giovanni Chiappini's story in Bolgheri begins with his family's move from Le Marche during the land reforms of the 1950s. He bought his first farm in the 1970s, and by the end of the 1990s winegrowing had become its central work. His daughters Martina and Lisa work alongside him.
The estate's eleven hectares of vineyards are divided between Via Bolgherese and Ferruggini, with different soils and exposures. Organic farming began in 2010, and the grapes grown include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
