Caramelized honey and dry straw open the nose, with a bright line of peat smoke behind them. The palate is light but characterful, bringing together rich honey, chewy nut brittle and a mineral, briny note. Gentle spice adds definition through the middle without masking the whisky’s easy-sipping texture. Five years in once-used American white oak ex-rye barrels gives the spirit its balance of sweetness, savoury depth and smoke. The finish is clean and wood-fired. Serve neat or with a little water.
