Gentian and hop flowers lead the nose, joined by vanilla, cinnamon and green cardamom. The palate is broad and warming, balancing firm herbal bitterness with measured sweetness and deeper notes of myrrh, bark and spice. A complex infusion of leaves, flowers, seeds, roots and resins gives the liqueur depth without becoming heavy. The finish is long, bittersweet and persistent. Serve neat after dinner, over ice with orange peel, or use sparingly to deepen a rye or bourbon cocktail.
