Red berries, ripe plum and oak open the nose, with floral lift and a fresh sea-breeze note underneath. The palate is rich and sherried, bringing fruitcake, raisins and more plum together with a creamy texture, firm tannins and warming oak spice. Spanish Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks deepen the fruit while juicy malted barley keeps the whisky composed. The finish is long and complex, carrying sea salt, dark fruit and spice. Serve neat or add water gradually.
