Toasted oak, burnt caramel and dry-roasted nuts lead the aroma, with marzipan and orange peel adding lift. The palate is long, smooth and richly layered, bringing dark cherry, chocolate, date and prune together with clove, vanilla and cinnamon. Reserve rums aged from 10 to 25 years are blended through a solera system, then finished in former Cognac casks. Dried mango, raspberry and ginger carry the poised, gently warming finish.
