Sweet berries, black cherry and plum are layered with confit orange, rose petal, bitter chocolate, woodsmoke and a light gamey note. The palate is ample and full-bodied, with precise fruit, ripe tannins and a firm line of acidity. Dark soil and measured oak add depth without blurring the finish. Give it air and serve with roast duck, venison or mushrooms.
