A deep gold Champagne with white flowers, candied lemon, baked apple and toasted pastry, developing smoky notes, dried fruit and hazelnut as it opens. The palate is finely textured and remarkably fresh, with compact bubbles, chalky salinity and a dry, lightly bitter finish. Extended cellar ageing has brought complexity without dulling the wine’s energy. Serve in a generous white-wine glass with turbot, roast poultry, lobster or mature Comté.

About Louis Roederer
The Reims house that became Louis Roederer was founded in 1776 and took its current name when Louis Roederer inherited it in 1833. He expanded its vineyard holdings and developed an approach in which grapes from individual parcels are made into wine separately before blending.
Cristal was created in 1876 for Tsar Alexander II, followed by Cristal Rosé in 1974. More recent work includes the Brut Nature Champagnes made in collaboration with designer Philippe Starck.
