Elegant and firmly structured, with dried strawberry and red cherry framed by rose, cinnamon, clove and fresh mint. The palate brings polished red and blue fruit, vibrant acidity and fine, powdery tannins, building toward a savoury herbal finish. Decant before serving with braised beef, wild mushrooms, aged pecorino or slow-roasted lamb.

About Podere Le Ripi
Francesco Illy began Podere Le Ripi in 1998 at Castelnuovo dell’Abate, on Montalcino’s eastern side. The estate made its first wine in 2003. The farm brings together vines, olive trees, gardens, bees and animals, with organic and biodynamic methods guiding its care. Its Montalcino vineyards range from forest-edged western slopes to a closely planted experimental site. Hand work and native yeasts are used alongside open fermentation vessels, large oak casks and concrete, with methods varying between wines.
