Ripe cherry and plum open into violet, dried flowers and warm sweet spice. The palate is full and composed, with polished Sangiovese tannins, fresh acidity and well-integrated oak. Tobacco, leather and a gentle balsamic note build through the middle, leading to a long, savoury finish with lingering red fruit.

About Marchesi Antinori
Marchesi Antinori traces its wine business to 1385, when Giovanni di Piero Antinori entered Florence’s Winemakers’ Guild. Twenty-six generations later, the family company is guided by sisters Albiera, Allegra and Alessia Antinori, continuing a long habit of pairing tradition with experimentation. For the catalogue’s Solaia and Tignanello wines, the central place is Tenuta Tignanello in Chianti Classico, set between the Greve and Pesa valleys on limestone- and marl-rich hillsides. Its two namesake vineyards give the estate its signature wines, with Sangiovese joined by Cabernet varieties in a distinctly modern Tuscan frame.
