Gold in the glass with a fine, persistent mousse. Candied citrus, baked apple and white flowers lead into toasted brioche, roasted hazelnut and a touch of clear honey. The palate is broad and creamy yet held taut by lemony acidity and mineral freshness. A long, saline finish brings almond, smoke and quiet spice.

About Charles Heidsieck
Charles-Camille Heidsieck founded his Champagne house in Reims in 1851, aged twenty-nine. He travelled to the United States the following year, beginning a series of visits to introduce his wines to American customers.
In 1867 he acquired third-century chalk cellars beneath Reims, with more than eight kilometres of galleries about thirty metres underground. Bottles rest in these cool cellars for at least four years, with some remaining much longer. An extensive collection of reserve wines supports blends of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier.
