Burmester 1989 Vintage Port

$229.99

Forest berries and sweet dark fruit rise with cinnamon, chocolate and a faint dried-leaf note. The palate is smooth and pleasantly sweet, its freshness and silky tannins keeping the mature fruit lively and refined. Soft spice carries through a gentle, lingering finish. Decant carefully and serve with blue cheese, dark chocolate or a nut-based dessert.

About Burmester
Henry Burmester and John Nash established their Port trading company in 1750, exporting wines from Vila Nova de Gaia to Europe. Johann Wilhelm Burmester arrived in Porto in 1834, worked his way from employee to manager and eventually bought the business. Today its vineyards include Quinta do Arnozelo in the Douro Superior, where terraces descend towards the river over schist and granite soils. The house picks early to avoid over-ripeness, presses gently and matures its Ports in Vila Nova de Gaia.
