About Glengoyne Distillery
Glengoyne has made whisky at Dumgoyne since 1833, just north of Glasgow in the southern Highlands. It belongs to Ian Macleod Distillers, an independent Scottish family firm. The malted barley is dried with warm air, and slow distillation is central to the way the whisky is made.
Cask preparation can take six years before the wood receives whisky. Sherry-seasoned oak and virgin Scottish oak are among the casks used for maturation. The distillery uses renewable electricity and has wetlands and beehives on site.
