Henry of Pelham 2024 Baco Noir
Canadian Red
Dried cherry, prune and Concord grape appear with molasses, liquorice, dried flowers, vanilla and coffee. The palate has good depth of dark fruit, supple weight and integrated tannins, with coffee on the finish. Made from Baco Noir in the Niagara Peninsula, this Ontario red draws on a winter-hardy, dark-skinned hybrid variety. The family farm dates to the nineteenth century, and the winery is among the region's pioneers.
Tawse 2023 Quarry Road Vineyard Chardonnay
Canadian White
Pear, hazelnut and lemon-lime lead, with custard, cedar, green olive and a light briny note adding detail. The palate is medium- to full-bodied and tightly structured, combining creamy texture with bright acidity and mineral tension. Long and composed through the finish, it suits grilled salmon, roast chicken, vegetable quiche or creamy mushroom dishes.
