Winery Zodi 2020 Kvishkhuri Amber

Georgian White
$42.99

Honey and field flowers mark the aromas of this full-skin-contact amber wine. Kvishkhuri comes from sixty-year-old vines in a one-hectare vineyard. Skin contact lasts one month, and the wine ages for twenty months in qvevri. The producer works in Imereti in western Georgia, using minimal-intervention methods that add or remove nothing beyond a small sulphur addition before bottling. The estate seeks to preserve forgotten local grape varieties.

Baia’s Wine 2021 Krakhuna Imereti

Georgian White
$53.99

Apricot, persimmon, citrus peel and herbal notes accompany stone fruit, honey and spice. The wine is full-bodied, with tannin and a long, dry finish. Krakhuna is the sole grape. Vines grow at three hundred twenty-four metres on free-draining alluvial soils. Fermentation takes place in qvevri with wild yeast, and the wine is unfiltered and low in sulphites.

Gvantsa’s Wine 2021 Otskhanuri Sapere Qvevri

The wine is made entirely from Otskhanuri Sapere grown in Imereti. Fermentation begins spontaneously in qvevri, and maturation lasts nine months before unfiltered bottling. Its colour is dark ruby, and the profile is medium-bodied and persistent.
