Garnet in colour, with red berry and blackberry aromas shaped by freshness and a light earthy note. The palate is concentrated yet smooth, with supple, rounded tannins coating pure Merlot fruit. Its sulphite-free style feels bright and composed rather than rustic, finishing clean and energetic. Serve with roast chicken, beef carpaccio, mushroom dishes or dark chocolate.

The tale of Le Grand Verdus begins in 1810 with Claude Deschamps, the preferred architect of Napoleon Bonaparte and creator of the ‘Pont de Pierre’ bridge in Bordeaux. The chateau has remained within the family ever since. The vineyards of Grand Verdus are blessed with an exceptional terroir and micro-climate, with the altitude variations creating a unique patchwork of soil composed of limestone, clay and smooth riverbed gravel, giving rise to world-renowned and globally recognized bordeaux.
