Collemattoni was founded in 1984 by Aldo Bucci, the father of the current owner, Marcello. Bucci has a predilection for tradition, and his wines seduce with their purity and elegance. The name Collemattoni translates to ‘hill of brick’ and dates back to the Etruscan period (700-1000 BC). In 2012, Collemattoni was certified organic and their work is done in the full respect of the environment.
Collemattoni Rosso di Montalcino 2019
92 Points Vinous: One of our favourites…pure, delicious Sangiovese from a classic Brunello producer. Meaty, smoky, dense and tannic with aromas and flavours of dried cherries, earth and violets. On the palate, it is dense and broad with flavours of cherry, earth and that telltale Montalcino terroir. With all the hallmarks of Montalcino, and very well made, it represents fantastic value.

La Gabinele Belandes Minervois 2015
Grenache 40 %, Syrah 60 % An incredibly expressive bouquet: peony, violet, white pepper, cocoa, eucalyptus and star anise. An impressive palate from the outset with powerful flavour. The body is vibrant, unctuous and sensual leading to a mineral and acid driven finish. With its power and juiciness, Bélandes goes perfectly with braised lamb, roasted rabbit or roast duck.
Padro & Co Rojo Amargo Vermouth
The nose dances with zesty sensations of ripe orange peel with subtle hints of cinnamon spice, while the palate sings of Balsamic notes of cloves and dried apricot. Super smooth and full-bodied in the mouth, the citrus daringly leads followed by a pleasant bitterness reminiscent of tobacco, cinchona bark and honeyed caramel. 700mL | 18% alc./vol.
Reverdito Barolo Badarina 2016
Vineyard: Serralunga d’Alba Production: 6,000 bottles Soil: Limestone This vineyard is characterized by its considerable altitude, which brings noteable freshness to the Nebbiolo grown here. Bardarina is especially powerful in this vintage. Intense black and blue fruit, leather, licorice, smoke and spices meld together for incredibly dense and complex wine backed up by considerable structure. This is a wonderfully complete Barolo that will reveal its greatness in time.
Coquard Beaujolais ’69’ 2020
Classic aromas of raspberry and wild strawberry dominate, with playful hints of blackcurrant to round it out. The complex minerality fleshes out the gentle tannins, resulting in a satin-smooth mouthfeel and a memorable finish. Best enjoyed on the cooler side (11-12° C) and great with charcuterie, poultry and cheeses.
Reverdito Barolo DOCG 2016
Production: 16,000 bottles Soil: Marl & Limestone Produced from 25 year old Nebbiolo planted on marl and limestone soils. Collemattoni Adone Toscana IGT 2019
95% Sangiovese, 5% Merlot. A knockout at its price point. Enjoyable now, with the addition of Merlot increasing the suppleness of the fruit and palate. Delicate aromatics of red fruits, underbrush, truffles, violet petals, and spices spring from the glass. Sleek and polished, with some mocha and gentle herbal notes adding to the palate. Mas Gabinele Faugeres 2017
Syrah 40 %, Grenache 30 %, Carignan 30% Lovely deep red colour, dark even. Black fruit nose, almost all black fruits: cherry, blackberry, blackcurrant, cooked blueberry and damsons. Toasted spelt loaf aromas, Havana cigar and cocoa beans (crushed naturally). Full-bodied mouth-feel, firm and already nicely integrated despite the powerful tannins. Serve with risotto with porcini mushrooms.
