Olivier Leflaive 2014 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Pierres

$129.99

Chardonnay grows on clay-limestone soil over a rocky bank at 230 to 250 metres. The grapes are hand harvested, pressed immediately and gently, and lightly filtered. Ageing lasts sixteen months in barrel, including four months after the lots are assembled; twenty percent of the oak is new. Citron, earth, pear, sap and mineral elements appear in an intense, structured profile with a long, supple finish. Alcohol is twelve-and-a-half percent.

About Olivier Leflaive
Olivier Leflaive founded his wine house in Puligny-Montrachet in 1984. His brother Patrick, daughter Julie and Jean Soubeyrand later joined the business. The estate covers 26 hectares, chiefly in Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet. Both estate-grown and purchased grapes are made into wine, with each parcel handled separately and decisions adapted to the site and vintage. The estate vineyards carry HVE Level 3 certification.
