The palate is concentrated and tightly contained, carrying dense fruit through firm structure and impressive length. Toasted notes remain prominent, yet the finish is composed, weighty and persistent rather than sweet. Decant carefully to let the wine open, then serve with slow-roasted lamb, venison or mature cheddar.
