8th Generation Vineyard 2025 Red One Merlot
$36.99
Merlot is presented without oak. This family-farmed and family-made red comes from a Summerland lakefront producer in the Okanagan Valley. Family winemaking spans generations on both sides. It is vegan and carries VQA status. The estate uses only British Columbia fruit and carries out cultivation, winemaking and bottling itself. Its vineyard practices are sustainable. Grapes receive gentle pressing before the pre-clarified juice is fermented.

About 8th Generation Vineyard
8th Generation Vineyard traces its winegrowing story to 1783, when Christian Schales planted vines in Dalsheim in Germany's Rheinhessen. Bernd and Stefanie Schales left Germany for Canada in 2003, bringing Bernd's grandfather's winepress, then opened their Okanagan winery in 2007. The name reflects Bernd's place as an eighth-generation winemaker, while Stefanie comes from an even longer winegrowing line.
The couple farms and makes wine from two Summerland properties. Their lakeside estate grows Pinot Meunier alongside Pinot Noir, Riesling and Syrah in layered silt and sand over gravel, with Okanagan Lake moderating the site. White and rosé wines are made in stainless steel, while the reds mature in French oak barriques.
