Deeply coloured and composed, with bilberry and blackcurrant layered over cigar box, smoke, autumn leaves and supple leather. The palate is concentrated and richly textured, yet held in balance by fresh acidity and finely structured tannins. Graphite and smoked tobacco carry through the long, savoury finish. Decant gently and serve with roast beef or lamb.

About Mouton Rothschild
Château Mouton Rothschild took its name in 1853, when Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild bought Château Brane-Mouton at auction in Pauillac. Baron Philippe took charge in 1922 and, two years later, required the entire harvest to be bottled at the château. Jean Carlu designed the 1924 label; the annual artist-label tradition began in 1945.
Mouton was elevated to First Growth in 1973. Its Pauillac vineyard lies on deep gravel over a clay-limestone base, with gentle slopes that aid drainage and exposure to sunlight. Cabernet Sauvignon is central to the estate’s Pauillac wines.
