Douglas Laing’s Rock Oyster Island Blended Malt Scotch Whisky

Sea spray and light peat smoke lead with green apple, barley and honey. The palate is maritime and gently oily, layering salt, black pepper and mint over sweet cereal and a mineral edge. Ash and charcoal bring depth without overwhelming the malt. The finish is layered and warming, leaving smoke, pepper, coastal salinity and a final touch of sweetness.

Fred Douglas Laing founded his Glasgow whisky business in 1948, building relationships with distilleries across Scotland. It remains independent and family-owned, now in its third generation.
The company blends and matures whiskies, as well as selecting and bottling individual casks from different distilleries. Its range includes regional blended malts and single-cask whiskies. The acquisition of Strathearn Distillery in 2019 added distilling to the family’s work.
