Chocolate-covered strawberry, liquorice, vanilla and wood smoke accompany cranberry, cherry brandy and toasted baguette. The flavours are bold, with spice and a lingering finish. This Zinfandel comes from Lodi in California and contains 15.5 percent alcohol. Lodi lies between the San Francisco Bay and Sierra Nevada, with afternoon breezes reaching inland through the Sacramento River Delta.
