The palate is full and voluptuous yet classically refined, supported by firm, settled tannins and a savoury bittersweet concentration. A long, plummy finish keeps the balance graceful. About Warre's
Warre's traces its Port-house history to 1670. Andrew James Symington joined the firm in 1905, and the Symington family became sole owners in 1961.
Its wines draw on Quinta da Cavadinha, Quinta do Retiro, Quinta da Telhada and two other Symington family vineyards. Higher-altitude parcels, old mixed vines and warmer Douro sites give the blending team contrasting components for Vintage Port. Warrior Reserve, drawn from Cavadinha and Retiro, has been shipped under the Warrior name since the eighteenth century.
