Fresh apple and citrus lead this naturally sparkling Riesling, with lemon curd and a lightly savoury note adding depth. A fine, energetic bead carries the fruit across a dry, textured palate, while bright acidity keeps the finish clean and refreshing. About Gilbert Family Wines
Gilbert Family Wines began in 2004 with fifth-generation winemaker Simon Gilbert, continuing a family line that reaches back to Joseph Gilbert's 1847 planting at Pewsey Vale in Eden Valley. Simon's own cellar work started at eighteen and was followed by Roseworthy studies and experience across several South Australian wine regions. His son Will now works beside him, carrying that thread into a sixth generation.
The wines draw on Mudgee, Orange and Eden Valley. Riesling, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and traditional-method sparkling wines are particular focuses.
