Red currant and cherry lead with tobacco, dark plum and a restrained savoury note. The palate is smooth and generous, balancing ripe fruit with measured freshness and polished tannins. Subtle spice gathers through the composed finish without overwhelming the fruit. Decant briefly and serve with roast beef, grilled lamb, mushroom pie or firm aged cheese.

About Poplar Grove Winery
Founded in 1993, Poplar Grove was one of the first five wineries established on the Naramata Bench. Merlot and Cabernet Franc formed the first plantings, and the 1995 debut vintage amounted to just 150 cases. Tony and Barb Holler purchased the winery in 2007; today their four sons share responsibilities across the vineyards and business.
The family farms vineyards on the Naramata and Skaha benches and around Osoyoos, matching varieties to different sites. Its Middle Bench winery opened in 2011.
