Blackberry and red bramble fruit lead with violet, olive and liquorice, followed by cracked pepper and warm spice. The palate is silky and fleshy, balancing ripe fruit with an elegant, graceful shape rather than overt weight. A lifted floral note carries the composed finish. Serve with duck, lamb, lentils or grilled mushrooms.

About Le Vieux Pin
Le Vieux Pin’s first vintage was 2005, from its Oliver estate on the Black Sage Bench. Named for the solitary old pine on the property, the winery draws on French wine traditions and South Okanagan fruit.
Séverine Pinte joined in 2010 and now serves as winemaker, viticulturist and managing partner. Her work combines low-input vineyard farming with a non-interventionist approach in the cellar. Syrah and white Rhône varieties are central to the wines.
