Domaine de la Grosse Pierre 2023 Fleurie Bel Air
$56.99
Peony and wild raspberry rise over pomegranate and redcurrant in a light, perfumed profile. The palate is graceful and lifted, with whisper-fine tannins giving gentle shape rather than weight. A mineral grip gathers toward the finish, joined by pink peppercorn and a final return of fresh red fruit. Serve slightly cool with roast chicken, charcuterie, grilled salmon or mushroom dishes.

About Domaine de la Grosse Pierre
Domaine de la Grosse Pierre began with Georges and Antonia Passot in the 1960s, passed to Alain and Véronique Passot in 1979, and entered its third generation when Pauline Passot took charge in 2018. After working as a sommelier in France and abroad, Pauline returned to her native Chiroubles to focus that experience on the family's steep vineyards. Today the domaine farms 9.4 hectares across Chiroubles, Morgon, Fleurie and Beaujolais, all planted to Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc.
The steep granite slopes at Chiroubles require extensive work by hand. The vineyards are farmed organically. The cellar uses whole bunches and spontaneous, semi-carbonic fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Skin contact lasts roughly ten days, and no sulphur is added during vinification.
