Montes Alpha 2023 Chardonnay

Papaya and pineapple define the fruit profile, joined by toasted nuances, vanilla and dried fruit from barrel ageing. The palate balances freshness with generous body and carries a long finish. The Chardonnay was hand-harvested and separated for whole-cluster pressing, destemmed pressing and brief cold maceration. Thirty percent fermented in new oak, and the same proportion aged twelve months in French barrels.

About Montes
Montes began with a 1987 harvest led by Aurelio Montes and Douglas Murray; the company was founded a year later. Originally called Discover Wines, the Chilean winery established its early reputation with Montes Alpha. It acquired the Apalta estate in 1995 and opened the winery there in 2004.
