Roland Lavantureux 2022 Chablis

Pear and lemon appear with a touch of wet walnut. The palate has concentration, mid-palate weight and salty preserved-lemon freshness, with a bright finish. Chardonnay comes from a five-hectare parcel in Lignorelles. The estate vinifies each parcel separately, and this wine receives twenty-five percent barrel élevage. The profile is long and direct, and alcohol is 12.5 percent.

About Domaine Roland Lavantureux
The Lavantureux family’s ties to land and vines in northern Chablis reach the seventeenth century. Roland began bottling under his own name in 1979; with Brigitte, he expanded the family estate and brought its wines to customers beyond the region. Their sons Arnaud and David joined in 2010 and now lead the domaine from Lignorelles.
Alongside Chablis, the family works vineyards inherited through their mother’s side in Épineuil and Tonnerre. Grapes from each parcel are made into wine separately, using stainless steel and seasoned barrels in proportions chosen for the site.
