About Merridale Cidery & Distillery
Merridale is a working orchard, cidery and distillery in the Cowichan Valley, with a restaurant and visitor spaces on the farm. Janet Docherty took the reins in 1999 and leads the family business with her son Jason as general manager.
The orchard grows traditional English and French cider apples, supplemented by fruit from other British Columbia growers when needed. Apples are pressed on the farm, where the cider is fermented and bottled. The farm’s ongoing sustainability work includes composting, water management and reusing production materials.
