Maturation in a balanced combination of European and American sherry-seasoned casks creates generous sweetness without losing definition. The finish is smooth and lingering, with pastry, fruit and anise returning together.

About The Macallan
The Macallan’s licensed history began in 1824 at Easter Elchies, its estate above the River Spey. Oak preparation is central to its whisky-making, beginning with wood selected at source and casks made and seasoned to the distillery’s specifications. American and European oak casks are seasoned with sherry in Jerez before being filled with whisky. The Macallan describes a journey of roughly six years from tree to finished cask—before the whisky’s own ageing begins.
