About Vancouver Island Brewing
Vancouver Island Brewing began in 1984 as Island Pacific Brewing in Saanichton, then adopted its present name and moved into Victoria. Islander Lager and Hermann's Dark date back to those early years.
In 2024, the company arranged for Phillips Brewing to handle its main production and packaging in Victoria. The Vancouver Island team keeps control of its recipes and ingredients, and brews pilot and specialty batches on a small system.
