The palate is gently sweet and brightly defined, balancing ripe cherry richness with the natural acidity of Morello and Montmorency cherries. About Giffard
Giffard began in 1885 when Angers pharmacist Émile Giffard developed a clear mint liqueur for guests at the neighbouring Grand Hôtel. He converted his pharmacy into a distillery and named the liqueur Menthe-Pastille after the mint sweets then in fashion.
Fruit and plants remain at the heart of its liqueurs and syrups, chosen for their aromas. Based in Avrillé since 1972, the house continues Anjou’s tradition of liqueur making.
